Since its opening in March 2005, Billy Elliot the Musical has played to over a quarter of a million people. The critically acclaimed production, attracting audiences of all ages, won the 2005 Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Musical and the Best Musical award in the 51st Evening Standard Awards.

The original award-winning creative team behind the smash hit film, director Stephen Daldry, writer Lee Hall, and choreographer Peter Darling are joined by music legend Elton John to create a musical about a young boy's dream to be a dancer that is funny, uplifting, and immensely entertaining. The poignant film broke box office records worldwide and was nominated for a raft of awards including 3 Golden Globes, 3 Oscars and 13 Bafta awards.

Billy Elliot the Musical is an inspirational story of one boy's dream to realise his ambitions against the odds. Set in the North East of England against the background of the historic 1984/85 miners' strike, Billy pursues his passion for dance in secret to avoid the disapproval of his struggling family. The result is a funny, heart-warming, and feel-good celebration of the triumph of one boy's dream in the face of hardship and adversity.
